FAQ
How do you measure “verified savings”?
We agree a baseline period (typically 30–90 days), define scope, and track savings against that baseline. Savings are verified using cloud cost data (e.g., Cost Management exports) and documented in a savings register showing:
- what changed,
- when it changed,
- expected impact, and
- actual impact after the change.
What counts as savings (and what doesn’t)?
✅ Counts as savings:
- rightsizing, shutdown schedules, removing unused resources,
- storage tiering & lifecycle policies,
- commitment optimisation where appropriate,
- architectural efficiency improvements that reduce cost without harming performance.
❌ Doesn’t count as savings:
- spend reductions caused by unrelated business changes (e.g., workload decommissioning not related to our work),
- temporary reductions due to paused projects,
- reductions from removing scope we weren’t responsible for (unless explicitly agreed).
Do you need access to our cloud environment?
For the free consultation, no.
For paid work (assessment/retainer/hybrid), yes — typically read‑only access following least‑privilege principles. Any changes are done only with approval.
How quickly will we see results?
Most clients see meaningful opportunities within the first 2–4 weeks, and tangible savings within 30–90 days, depending on approval speed and environment complexity.
Can you work with our MSP / internal cloud team?
Yes. We can work directly with your engineering teams or your MSP. We provide clear action plans, prioritization, and governance so savings are implemented correctly and maintained.
How does payment work?
- Assessments: milestone or upfront (commonly upfront for small fixed engagements)
- Retainers: paid monthly in advance
- Hybrid: retainer monthly in advance, savings share billed based on verified savings per the agreed methodology
Is there a minimum contract term?
Typically:
- Assessment: once‑off (2–4 weeks)
- Retainer/Hybrid: recommended minimum 3 months to deliver results and establish governance, then month‑to‑month or 6–12 months depending on client preference.
What if savings are lower than expected?
Hybrid pricing includes a base retainer so the optimization and governance work continues regardless of short-term fluctuations. If a client prefers, we can use a pure retainer model for predictability.
Do you guarantee savings?
We don’t promise a fixed number without seeing the environment (that would be irresponsible), but we do follow a proven optimization cadence and typically find meaningful waste in most environments. After the assessment, you’ll have a clear quantified roadmap.
